This is a spiritual time of year for many people. This year, instead of just going through the motions, take some time to really think about your own personal reasons for the actions you take during times like Passover and Easter.
Slow down a moment and connect with your beliefs to make spiritual choices that truly mean something to you.
The Refrigerator
Don’t Let Spring Break Derail You
As Spring Break happening your schedule is probably going to be a bit off. That tends to lead to healthy habits disappearing in a poof of smoke.
It doesn’t have to be that way.
Whether you’re traveling, or are trying to keep your kids entertained at home, you don’t have to neglect yourself.
Keep getting some sort of intentional movement in, even if it isn’t what you would normally do. Let yourself indulge in some fun foods, while balancing them with some healthy choices, and stopping eating when full.
Freshen Your Home with Greenery
There is nothing like a little plant life to add that something to a room to pull it together.
Regardless of what zone you live in, spring time is the best time to be repotting indoor plants, or starting to propagate (make new plants out of cuttings).
And, if you have a black thumb, or travel so much plants can’t survive in your home, silk plants work beautifully, too!
Stop Multitasking- You Are Not a Machine
Use Pinterest (With Care)
I talk to people all the time who say they would love to change up their homes, but they don’t know what looks good, or how to put color and décor together.
This (and recipes) is what Pinterest excels in!
Stop thinking you have to come up with your own original plan. Search your project, and see what other people have already tried. Put your favorite bits together, and voila! You’ve given your home a make-over.
Write It Down
When life gets to be overwhelming, many people find writing to be useful.
Putting things in writing makes them real. It gets laid out in the open and you have to deal with it. It can also help you to feel like your thoughts are safe and no longer have to swim in your head if they’re written down.
Journaling is a good idea when it comes to writing. There are lots of resources online to help you get started. However, when it comes down to it, there is no right way here. Express yourself as you need. That’s what will help the most.
If you’re worried about others reading it, keep the journal someplace no one can find it, like in a clothing drawer, in your car, or at work.
The Pantry
Our pantries can get out of control with out of date, stale, and unwanted items. At least twice a year take these steps to stay on top of it:
- Pull out any spices, cans, and baking supplies that have expired.
- Take out any items that haven’t been used or you don’t want.
- Consider donating them to a local food pantry.
